Getting ready for the Hunt Expo in SLC and for the application season, causes me to reflect on my 1st successful Archery Hunt, 2 seasons ago. My son Jake and I got'er done! Small but satisfying. This year… lookin' for that 6x6 bull!
Course, before we got this li'l cow, we called in this beautiful trophy bull… in this cow-only unit. Oh well.
Jake, who was doing the bugling at this point, had him at bout 30 yards or so. I was just 20 yards on the other side of him with a shot so wide open I couldn't believe it. I'm just a little out of frame to the left of that little spruce tree on the side. Bull's next move was up, past the tree on the right and directly into my totally clear shooting lane. Too bad it was a cow-only unit, but within 20 minutes we had my little cow on the ground. Heart-pounding fun!
